Workbenches with wooden or steel worktop: which ones to choose?
The workbench is a key element for all vehicle and motorcycle workshops, dealerships and body shops, dealing with repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
But how to choose the one that suits you best, according to your needs and available space?
There are several variables that strongly affect the choice of workshop furniture, one of these concerns the materials composing the workbench top.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORKBENCHES WITH WOODEN, STEEL OR STAINLESS STEEL WORKTOP
Here is the first big distinction, also in this case it is important to say that the choice mainly concerns the intended use of the workbench.
There are 3 different types of worktop, but what are the differences?
- The workbench with plywood worktop: thanks to its composition, it can offer good stability and resistance, as well the possibility of being drilled where it is more convenient for fixing the bench vice. However, it has some weaknesses: it tends to absorb motor oils, gasoline and other liquids.
- The workbench with steel worktop, on the other hand, does not absorb any type of liquids and is very resistant, it is suitable for working on any component of cars and motorcycles. It also has other advantages: it resists shocks and scratches very well, is easy to keep in order and clean, it also offers excellent ergonomics to operators and it is built to last over time.
All our workbenches can also be equipped with 3 mm covers in ABS scratch-proof, oil-proof and petrol resistant to further protect your workbench and keep the surfaces unchanged over time.
- The workbench with stainless steel worktop: it is mounted most likely on the suspension workbenches and is suitable for the use of corrosive materials, oils, acids and solvents during maintenance operations.
QUALITY AND ORIGIN OF MATERIALS
Another fundamental element that affects the choice of workbench is the quality of the construction materials. The range of LV8 workbenches, as well as the entire line of furniture QUBE, vehicle and motorcycles lifts is 100% Made in Italy, designed and produced within our factory in Italy to ensure maximum safety and comfort to the operators of workshops and dealerships.
